Akateeminen yhteistyö Jyväskylän ja Israelin välillä kehittyy
Boikottiuhista huolimatta akateeminen (ja muukin) yhteistyö Jyväskylässä kehittyy edelleen. Viime viikolla Tietoviikon artikkelissa kerrottiin, että
Tekesin TULI – Tutkimuksesta liiketoimintaa -ohjelmasta on myönnetty rahoitusta kahdelle Jyväskylän yliopiston
tietotekniikan laitoksen hankkeelle. Hankkeiden yhteisvolyymi on noin
2,5 miljoonaa euroa, josta Tekesin rahoitusosuus on 70 prosenttia ja
Jyväskylän yliopiston 30 prosenttia. Hankkeet toteutetaan ajalla
Truly Protect
-hankkeessa kehitetään digitaalisen median suojausmenetelmää, joka on
nykyisin käytössä olevia tehokkaampi ja käytännössä tekee mahdottomaksi
digitaalisen median laittoman kopioinnin.
Rahoitus
on jatkoa Tekesin aiemmin myöntämille tutkimushankkeille, joita on
toteutettu viimeisen kolmen vuoden aikana yhteistyössä israelilaisten
tutkijoiden kanssa.
Nyt
rahoitettavissa hankkeissa selvitetään tutkimustulosten
kaupallistamista. Molemmissa alueissa maailmanlaajuinen
liiketoimintapotentiaali on Jyväskylän yliopiston arvion mukaan kymmeniä
miljardeja euroja.
JY:llä
on jo aiempaakin kokemusta akateemisesta yhteistyöstä Israeliin silla
esimerkiksi professori Amir Averbuch (Tel Avivin yliopisto, Israel)
työskentelee yliopistolla viisivuotisen TEKES rahoituksen tuella.
Itse olen aiemmin käsitellyt cyberwar teemaa mm artikkelissani
Cyber war has became a tool between political and military options
Definitions of Terrorism etc.
Racism: Any distinction, exclusion, restriction, or preference based on race,
colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect
of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment, or exercise, on equal
footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic,
social, cultural, or any other field of public life.”
Lynching: To put to death by mob action without legal sanction.
Ethnic Cleansing: The elimination of an unwanted group from a society,
as by genocide or forced migration.
State terrorism: State terrorism is a political system whose rule of recognition
permits and/or imposes a clandestine, unpredictable, and diffuse application,
even regarding clearly innocent people, of coercive means prohibited by the
proclaimed judicial ordinance. State terrorism obstructs or annuls judicial
activity and transforms the government into an active agent in the struggle for
power.”
Terrorism: The calculated use of violence or the threat of violence to inculcate
fear; intended to coerce or to intimidate governments orsocieties in the pursuit
of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological.”
Rogue State: Rogue nation does what it wants, even if that means going against
the wishes of the rest of the world. A rogue state will frequently violate international
law, and its actions are undeterred by punishment.
Resistance movement: An organized effort by some portion of the civil population
of a country to resist the legally established government or occupying power and to
disrupt civil order and stability. (Members of resistance movements must fulfil certain
stated conditions before they can be regarded as prisoners of war. If members of a
resistance movement who have fallen in to enemy hands do not fulfil those conditions,
they must be considered to be protected persons within the meaning of the present
Convention. That does not mean that they cannot be punished for their acts, but the
trial and sentence must take place in accordance with the provisions of Article 64
of Geneva Convention)

Hyvä Rusila,
onko tiedemaailman yhteistoiminta mielestäsi sopimatonta, ellei jopa väärää?
Ilmoita asiaton viesti

Israel on noihin kaikkiin syyllinen.

1) Laillisuudesta
The Palmer Report ( UN: Report of the Secretary-General’s Panel of Inquiry on the 31 May 2010 Flotilla Incident, September 2011 http://www.un.org/News/dh/infocus/middle_east/Gaza… )confirmed the legality of Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza, and Israel’s right to enforce the blockade, including in international waters. The panel also recognized Israel’s right to visit and search vessels and to capture them, if found in breach of a blockade, including in international waters.
2) Humanitaarisesta kriisistä
The report ( UN: Report of the Secretary-General’s Panel of Inquiry on the 31 May 2010 Flotilla Incident, September 2011 http://www.un.org/News/dh/infocus/middle_east/Gaza… ) determines that there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and that anyone interested in sending humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip must do so in coordination with Israel and the Palestinian Authority, and must transfer the aid via the land crossings.
3) Estellen tapaus
The Navy’s boarding was carried out in accordance with international law, as the ship attempted to break the maritime security blockade of the Gaza Strip. A short while ago, Israeli Navy soldiers boarded the Estelle, a vessel which was en route to the Gaza Strip, attempting to break the maritime security blockade. The boarding was carried out in accordance with international law and with directives of the Israeli Government. The boarding took place only after the Navy had made multiple attempts to dissuade the ship’s passengers from sailing to the Gaza Strip – both via direct contact and through diplomatic channels – but to no avail. Despite numerous calls to the passengers onboard, they remained unwilling to cooperate with Israeli authorities. After the passengers ignored calls to change course, the decision was made to board the vessel and lead it to the port of Ashdod. ja PM Netanyahun kommentti
”Even the people who were on the ship know that there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Their entire objective was to create a provocation and blacken Israel’s name. If human rights were really important to these activists, they would sail to Syria. We will continue to take strong and determined action to defend our borders,” the Prime Minister said.
