A team of researchers from MIT and Harvard were equally surprised when they happened upon this phenomenon by accident. They’d been studying the way live trout conserve energy by swimming behind obstacles that block the current*, and unintentionally placed a dead fish in the experimental setup. When they took a closer look, they were stunned.
“It was incredible, very counterintuitive,” MIT researcher Michael Triantafyllou says, describing the shock he felt upon seeing the fish swimming upstream. He explains that while he knew trout were good at conserving and even extracting energy, he had no idea that they’d be able to extract enough energy from the surrounding fluid to swim upstream without expending any of their own energy. Immediately, the team started to investigate this new, seemingly impossible phenomenon.”

Minkä takia tuo tulos olisi virheellinen?
Eiväthän laajenevat valot voi liikkua kuin sillä yhdellä ja samalla nopeudella millä kaikki muutkin laajenevat valot liikkuvat.
Laajenevat valot käytännössä tulevat ikäänkuin kontrolloineeksi koko ajan toistensa liikenopeutta.
Nehän vuorovaikuttavat koko ajan toistensa kanssa, kiihdyttäen toistensa laajenemista ja se taas kiihdyttää niiden kaikkien vauhtia koko ajan samassa suhteessa kuin aineet ja valot laajenevat.

Tarkoittaako tuo sitä, että jos jokin kulkisi valon nopeudella, niin sen kulkuneuvon valot etenisivät kaksinkertaisella valon nopeudella?

Laajenevasta aineesta koostuva kohde laajenee itse laajenevaksi valoksi jos saavuttaa lähes valonnopeuden.
Ja laajenevaksi valoksi hajaantuessaan / laajentuessaan se sitten jo jatkaakin vauhdin kiihdyttämistä laajenevana valona 😃

Mutta eikö se ole liikenneturvallisuusongelma kun ajoneuvon valot eivät valaise ajoneuvon keulaa kauemmaksi?

Kyllähän laajenevat fotonit valaiset itselleen tietä.
Myös laajenevat fotonit kierrättävät laajenevaa työntävää voimaa keskenään.
Mutta isommassa roolissa ovat laajenevan valon laajenevien aaltojen erilliset laajenevat tihentymät joita tarvitaan ziljoonittain yhden laajenevan fotonin syntymiseen.
