Maailman talousmahdin taloushuolet
En päässyt lukemaan koko artikkelia, vaikka olisi maksanut pyydetyn lukijatilausmaksun 1 €, koska omassa keltaisella hälytysvalolla vilkkuvassa yhden naisen taloudessani en ole pysynyt teknisesti mukana maksuvaihtoehtojen tekniikassa. Siksi kirjoitan ajatuksiani tänne blogipuolelle.
Olen kirjallisuudessa seurannut myös amerikkalaisia taloustuntoja ja amerikkalaista elämäntapaa, jossa kansalaisten korkeana tavoitteena on täyttää amerikkalainen unelma. Koska naapurikunnassa unelmat täyttyvät rahalla, on yleiseksi käsitykseksi jopa globaalimaailmassa alkanut vallalla olla uskomus, että unelmat toteutetaan rahalla, vaikka väkisin, vaikka keltaisilla valoilla vilkutellen.
Talous periaatteeltaan, kuten myös nykyaikainen kansantalous, on rauhan aatetta. Ihmisillä on nykyään hyvät asunnot eri hintaluokissaan, ruokaa jopa yllin kyllin, muotivaatteita ja myös kestävää kehitystä. Tätä kaikkea pidetään yllä rahalla. Taloutta pidetään yllä siis rahalla. Valtiolla on tarpeisiinsa sisärahoitusoikeus, emme enää elää Amerikan sisällissodan eikä Ranskan vallankumouksen aikaa, jolloin Amerikan manteretta valloittamaan käyneet eurooppalaiset pyysivät rahaa mm. Ranskalta.
Samalla olen tuottanut kansantalouteen termin kerrostuneet markkinat, jossa kaikki kansalaiset yltävät jollekin markkinatasolle taloutensa puolesta. Tämä tarkoittaa rahoitusmarkkinoille ja rahoitustoimialalle työtä. Työtä pidetään muutenkin kansalaisvelvollisuutena maassamme jo veron maksukyvyn vuoksi. Siksi olen ehdottanut edellä mainitun toteutumiseksi kansalaispalkan tarjontaa tarvitseville kansalaisille.

Sama englanniksi, translated by MS Copilot:
Reflections on War, Economy, and Peace in Our Time
Recently, I have been following the news reporting published in the newspaper section of this blogging platform. I even asked the editor-in-chief why some of the headlines seem almost warlike or appear to encourage a climate of conflict. Based on today’s headlines in Uusi Suomi, I have come to believe that the world is currently experiencing a powerful wave of collective anxiety, a surge of unrest resulting from many different factors converging at once.
For years, instability in the global community has been fueled by the conflict in Ukraine. In my view, this conflict can be understood partly in the context of a nation that, in historical terms, only recently achieved its independence and has continued to define its national identity. I realize that this perspective differs significantly from many prevailing interpretations of the situation in Europe. Nevertheless, I would point out that Finland itself fell into civil war shortly after gaining independence.
The Finnish Civil War was ostensibly fought over political power and competing social visions. On a deeper level, however, it was also a struggle of ideas and values, symbolized by the conflict between the Reds and the Whites. The Whites ultimately prevailed. From a contemporary perspective, they can be seen as representing the forces responsible for economic development and national administration, working for the benefit of the country as a whole. As evidence of this, one might note that Finland’s economic model has long been described, with broad consensus, as a welfare-state model. From this perspective, the outcome of that historical conflict can be viewed as having shaped a stable and prosperous society.
The current global wave of uncertainty also appears to concern the economic situation in the United States. According to reporting in Uusi Suomi, warning signals are flashing regarding the nation’s economic future. The article cites Admiral James A. Winnefeld, who spoke about the situation facing the United States. The headline reads:
”Former Senior U.S. Admiral Warns: Alarm Lights Are Flashing. The Cycle Always Ends in a Catastrophic War.”
Unfortunately, such wording continues the pattern of highly militarized headlines that I have observed in the publication.
I was unable to read the full article, even though access would have cost only one euro. In my own one-woman household economy, where warning lights sometimes flash yellow as well, I have not fully kept pace with the technical aspects of modern payment systems. For that reason, I am sharing my reflections here on the blog side of the platform instead.
In literature and public discussion, I have also followed American economic thinking and the American way of life, in which the fulfillment of the American Dream remains a central aspiration. Yet in a neighboring municipality, dreams are often said to come true through money. As a result, a broader belief seems to have spread throughout the globalized world: that dreams can be achieved through wealth alone, if necessary by force, and even while warning lights are flashing.
Economics, by its very nature, is an idea rooted in peace. Modern national economies are fundamentally systems of cooperation. Today, people have homes suited to different income levels, abundant food, fashionable clothing, and increasing opportunities to support sustainable development. All of these things are maintained through economic activity. In practical terms, economies operate through the circulation of money, but economics itself is something larger than money alone.
Modern states possess financial tools and internal financing mechanisms that earlier generations could scarcely imagine. We no longer live in the age of the American Civil War or the French Revolution, when European powers financed colonial ventures and geopolitical ambitions through international borrowing and patronage. Contemporary societies have greater capacities for economic self-determination.
From the standpoint of peace, it would be an interesting thought experiment if each American state enjoyed greater executive autonomy, perhaps even its own president or equivalent leader. Such a development could lighten the burden carried by the President of the United States and encourage more localized governance. Whether practical or not, the idea is inspired by a desire for peace, responsible economics, and political balance. A reform of that kind would certainly leave a memorable legacy.
It is surprisingly rare for people to recognize that economics and money are not the same thing.
It may be equally rare for people to recognize that humanity and the natural world also form a creation, as described in the Holy Bible.
My hope is for peace among all parties and for economic conditions that make peaceful governance and constructive politics possible without constantly alarming people with threats of war. In Finland, public discourse often emphasizes social and healthcare policy as a foundation of the welfare state. Such priorities remind us that societies flourish when they invest in human well-being rather than conflict.
I have also introduced the concept of layered markets, a model in which every citizen is able to participate at some level of economic life according to his or her circumstances. Such a framework would create meaningful opportunities within financial markets and the broader financial sector. Work itself remains an important civic responsibility in our society, not least because it enables citizens to contribute through taxation and participation in the common good.
For that reason, I have proposed the introduction of a citizen’s income for those who need it, helping to ensure that all members of society can maintain a meaningful connection to economic life and social participation.
